Kamouraska (Quebec) Summer Drawing/Vacation

with Artist Deirdre McCay July 6 to July 13, 2012

My yearly drawing vacation (9th anniversary) in Kamouraska is fast approaching.  The registration for the course has begun.  I myself cannot resist the trip every year.  Kamouraska is a magical place full of wildflowers, sea air, beautiful sunsets and views across the majestic St. Lawrence River.  Picturesque Quebec towns dot the whole area. The town of Kamouraska has art galleries, spas, restaurants, an amazing bakery, and many boutiques and coffee houses.  All of these are in walking distance from the house. The house we stay in faces the water (and the sunsets) and has a studio and fireplace.  Mornings are devoted to the study of drawing (anything and everything) and afternoons are free. Each night of the week, one student cooks a meal for the others. In this way we can sample each person’s favourite recipes.  We end each day in sharing experiences and enjoying conversation.

Each year I adapt the drawing course to the participants. We decide together what to concentrate on. Beginners or advanced students will both be integrated into the course.  The house can house 6 students, but families can come up and stay in the many beautiful bed and breakfast houses in the town.  If you would like to join us this year, you can e-mail me mccay.deirdre@gmail.com or phone 514-639-6157.
